J.W. Stewart, a practitioner in residence of sport management, discusses the latest in the NFL as week three is underway.
J.W. Stewart is a veteran broadcaster with nearly 30 years' experience as a local, regional, national, and international sports anchor and reporter.
J.W. spent 12 years at ESPN hosting a variety of shows, including SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, NBA Fastbreak, College Gameday Scoreboard, College Basketball Final and ESPNEWS. He was also a studio host for ESPN and ESPN2's coverage of Major League Baseball and college basketball.
In addition, he spent four years as a sports anchor and reporter at NBC Connecticut, where he covered the UConn men's and women's basketball teams and produced feature stories on Connecticut's Olympic athletes.
Besides teaching and advising, J.W. also broadcasts University of New Haven football games and co-hosts “The Dr. Z and J-Dub Podcast” with University of New Haven Interim President Dr. Sheahon Zenger.
J.W. holds a B.A. in Communications from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and an M.S. in Sport Management from the University of New Haven. He began teaching at the in the Fall of 2018.
A native of Middletown, Rhode Island, J.W. lives in Burlington with his wife Carol.
