About Michael
Michael is an occupational therapy practitioner, educator, and advocate who has served the profession since 2002. Michael received his Master of Occupational Therapy in 2002 from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY and his Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 2016. In 2006 he received his MBA from the University of New Haven. He is currently the Speaker of the Representative Assembly and a Director to the Board for the American Occupational Therapy Association. He is a pas t Member of the Representative Assembly and a Member of the Commission of Practice revising the associations official documents for the American Occupational Therapy Association. Michael is also a past President of the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association. He worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs prior to coming to the University of New Haven as the Chief of Prosthetics and an occupational therapist. He served as an adjunct faculty at Sacred Heart University, Gannon University and Lincoln College of New England. Michael is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Reiki Master Practitioner. Michael is passionate and dedicated to the promotion of occupational therapy services across the life span into all practice areas for the health and well-being of those we serve. He is dedicated to strengthening healthcare professionals understanding in firefighter, police, EMS, veteran and military personnel occupational needs and wellness.
